Granola Balls are an easy healthy snack that kids love.
Any combo of nuts, dried fruits, peanut butter, sunflower butter, almond butter….. as long as you have some sort of nut butter, honey, and oats. The following recipe is the way we make them and they never last more than a day or two.
Even my pickiest eater loves these.
They keep the kids full for hours and can be brought along for a day trip.
What you will need:
2 cups oats (rolled or quick oats)
1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
1/2 cup ground flaxseed
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
2/3 cup honey
1 cup peanut butter
mix together well.
It will look crumbly, not dry when mixed well. Wet your hands and take a tablespoon size amount, roll and squeeze into a ball. You will need to rewet your hands every second or third one to keep it less messy. Store in a sealed container. Can be refrigerated. Makes about 24.
